After having achieved tremendous success in the publishing industry, we transformed that into a roadmap for investing in other companies, applying our knowledge and experience to make a positive impact. Now we’ve built a portfolio of successful endeavors, from a reclaimed barn wood retailer to a disaster restoration business, and everything in between.
We began as an industry-leading wholesale book distributor known as American Book Company and evolved to become ABCO Group — a holding company that invests both expertise and capital in other companies and startups. Our goal is to provide them with all the tools they need to succeed, including strategic growth plans, retail placement, accounting, warehousing, distribution and financing. We pride ourselves on the ability to pair the right people from our outstanding group with existing team members from our new partners to achieve shared goals.
We also collaborate with successful business owners who are looking to slow down or retire, ultimately becoming their exit strategy. Retail Centric Marketing entered into a business partnership with ABCO Group in 2017. By the end of 2020 we will see total growth of 1,685%. We have been able to expand our product line and enter into multiple key license agreements including Disney and Nickelodeon.
At the onset of our partnership our company was primarily selling in the Value Channel, and we had a very limited customer base. Today, we have products selling in Walmart, Target, Meijer, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Five Below and Family Dollar, as well as thousands of Grocery and Drug Stores. RCM went from about 1,700 planogram facings, to over 48,000 in a matter of two years.
The growth we have experienced in a matter of two years was what we were expecting to do in 8 to 10 years on our own. The integration of our processes transitioned well and the ABCO staff was always available and willing to assist in whatever we needed.
